Upsilon Epsilon Omega's Program Initiatives

Upsilon Epsilon Omega is committed to serving the Baltimore County area through execution of the Alpha Kappa Alpha's international program, Economics, Sisterhood and Partnership, ESP program. The ESP program consists of five (5) platforms with activities dedicated to: improving the living standards within the Black community through economic education; creating exposure and opportunities for the women entrepreneur; adopting and/or assisting Black families, with an emphasis on the Black male; and improving the mental and physical health of local communities. The chapter has acknowledged MLK Day through a essay contest with the students at Sudbrook Middle

Adopt-A-Highway - UEO has adopted Liberty Road, a ¼ mile stretch between Live Oak and Offutt Roads in
partnership with the MD Highway Administration. UEO helps to keep this road free of litter by having quarterly
clean-ups of this roadway.

Adopt-A-Family Initiative - UEO has adopted a family unit that includes black males. The goal of this
initiative is to help the family become self sufficient and provide them with the necessary tools and resources to
succeed in life.

Genesis ElderCare - Four times a year, the members of UEO plan recreational activities for the residents
of Catonsville Commons (Genesis ElderCare). The activities range from crafts to games of BINGO.

The Black Barbie Doll Project is a collaborative event with Grace A.M.E. Church in which the chapter
donates approximately over 100 black Barbie dolls to the church each year at Christmas. The dolls are placed
in Christmas baskets of families in need with young girls.
